DOCTOPUS : THE TEACHER'S OCTOPUS, GEGAPAC ONLINE EVENT, DECEMBER 5, 2020
I had a wonderful opportunity to present a online workshop for GEGAPAC Online event on December 05, 2020 with a worldwide audience.
The topic for my workshop was Doctopus : The Teacher's Octopus
Before I even walk you through the steps of using a Doctopus to organise and distribute assignments or documents to your students, it is important to know why we need to learn anything new.
Enabling new ways to teach and learn can help you collaborate, support and transform education and your own personal growth. Knowing smarter ways to do things helps you organise in best ways.
There are wonderful opportunities for educators around the world to lean something new. Below is the website for you to view shared tools by educators globally.

Doctopus is like a digital paperless classroom photocopier. It is a great tool for differentiation and scaffolding especially when doing group work, projects or working with ESL students.
The aim of this workshop was to reach a wider audience to share experience of using an add on or an extension for Google chrome and describe the benefits of using Doctopus for organising, sharing and managing Google docs for teachers.
Doctopus also provides monitoring and custom permission controls. You can easily track your students' work, time of edits, word counts, guide and provide feedback throughout the course of work and after. You may choose to couple with a rubric, provide grade, score, feedback and email to students, all from the spreadsheet.
In this post, I am sharing a PDF of Google Slide Show as presented during the live event. This will walk you through steps of how to access the Doctopus.
